Have your say on paid sick leave

FROM: BC Federation of Labour

The pandemic has shown us how critically important access to paid sick leave is for workers and our communities. Right now, we have an historic opportunity to secure paid sick leave in BC.

Last week, the BC government launched a survey outlining three options for a permanent paid sick leave program. This is our chance to tell them nothing less than 10 days will do!

  • 10 days is the minimum standard across the majority of OECD countries.[1]
  • 10 days is the required isolation period for COVID-19.[2]
  • 10 days is what Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh have committed to for federally regulated workers.[3]
  • And 10 days is what 86% of British Columbians support![4]

Now is the time to raise your voice. Tell them BC workers need 10 days of paid sick leave!

Thank you,

BC Federation of Labour
