United Way Waterfront United Campaign
Three years ago the unions and companies on Vancouver’s waterfront came together to launch a new partnership to support the community. Using our collective strength to multiply our impact on building strong communities and improving people’s lives by supporting United Way, Waterfront employees have since raised almost $1.2 million and we are about to launch their 3rd year of giving back to the community together.
Waterfront employees are helping ensure children grow up with hope for the future, that families feel a sense of belonging in their community, and that our neighbourhoods are safe and supportive places for everyone.
With the support of Waterfront United organizations and unions, United Way was able to invest almost $9.7 million in 2013/14 to help children and youth get a great start in life and to grow up strong and healthy. The generosity of Waterfront United employees means the United Way School’s Out initiative and Community schools partnership, which helped 52,000 children and provided access to after school programs helping kids with homework and to improve their social skills and physical health. We are part of the success of every child in these programs.
