Justice for Columbia
For over 50 years Colombia has suffered murderous wars between the government and leftwing rebel groups. Although it appears to be a war centered around drugs, in reality it is an issue of extreme social and economic inequalities. The rate of poverty in Columbia is more than 65% of the population. Those that speak out against the Colombian regime are made targets for torture, massacre, rape, disappearances and assassinations.
Thousands of civilians are killed annually; among those, 3000 trade unionists in the last 15 years. Still, many others have been imprisoned or tortured, and an estimated 4 million people have been made to flee their homes.
