Online Petition for MUNZ Dockworkers at the Ports of Auckland
Dear all,
Please support and sign this online petition. It’s important. These are working families under attack.
Dockworkers at the Port of Auckland are in a dispute over threats to their job security and trade union rights.
The port management company (POAL) has repeatedly undermined good faith bargaining and attacked terms and conditions at the port. Whilst the union (MUNZ) has tried to negotiate, POAL has apparently issued redundancy notices, hired non-union workers and tried to divide the workforce by offering individual contracts. Management has also threatened to lock out workers.
Please take 60 seconds to sign the petition: http://www.saveourport.com/action/petition/
Other things you can do:
- Send a message of support to the union: http://www.itfglobal.org/solidarity/solidarity-3502.cfm/letter/85/
- Send a letter to the New Zealand embassy to express your concern about how these workers are being treated: http://www.itfglobal.org/solidarity/solidarity-3502.cfm (template letter and links to find your embassy)
