Solidarity Beats! Young Workers Hosting Fundraiser for the Sarah McLachlan School of Music in September, 2024

ILWU Canada Young Workers Committee is collaborating with USW NextGen Committee to organize a social fundraiser featuring Much Music Video throwback hits from the 1990s and early 2000s and a trivia competition.  

Solidarity Beats: Trivia Competition and Dance Party Fundraiser will take place on Thursday, September 26th at 5pm at the Maritime Labour Centre Auditorium in Vancouver. Early bird tickets are $25 until September 1, and $30 after that. Tickets can be purchased here and you can keep up to date about the event via the ILWU and USW young workers’ Instagram pages: @ilwucanadayoungworkers and @uswnextgen.

The event will raise money for the Sarah McLachlan School of Music. Donation details are provided at the end of the letter attached below. Other ways to support include of course buying a ticket and attending the event, or volunteering to spread the word and donating union swag or prizes.  

Unions are encouraged to promote the event to their young workers but this event is open to all workers.
